Netflix’s Scooby-Doo! Reboot to Star Young Actors, Focus on Camp Mystery

Date:

Netflix is moving forward with its first-ever live-action series based on the beloved Hanna-Barbera cartoon, Scooby-Doo!. The show will feature a young cast portraying Fred, Daphne, Shaggy, and Velma. Produced by Warner Bros. Television, Berlanti Productions, and Midnight Radio, the series will be helmed by showrunners Josh Appelbaum and Scott Rosenberg.
The plot is set during the gang’s final summer at camp. They encounter a lonely Great Dane puppy who becomes a key witness to a mysterious supernatural murder. This event forces the group to confront a frightening nightmare that could expose their deepest secrets. The series is described as a modern reimagining that blends mystery, friendship, and supernatural suspense.
The season will consist of eight hour-long episodes. While the working title is Scooby-Doo! The Live-Action Series, a final title has not been confirmed. Filming, originally anticipated for fall 2025, has been pushed to an early 2026 start date to ensure a smooth production.
This new series aims to appeal to both long-time fans and a new generation of viewers. The focus on a younger cast and a more supernatural-tinged mystery is a fresh approach to the familiar story. Anticipation is high for casting news, especially for the role of the young Great Dane who will play Scooby.
