Lewis Pullman and Danielle Brooks announced the 98th Academy Awards nominations this evening, with two films garnering extensive recognition. Paul Thomas Anderson’s “One Battle After Another” and Ryan Coogler’s “Sinners” received the most acknowledgment.
The extensive recognition garnered by both films reflects their comprehensive excellence. “One Battle After Another” garnered nominations in directing, adapted screenplay, multiple acting categories, cinematography, and sound design. The breadth of acknowledgment demonstrates its quality.
“Sinners” garnered equally extensive recognition through nominations in directing, cinematography, production design, costume design, sound design, visual effects, and acting. Coogler’s ambitious vision clearly resonated with Academy voters.
Other films garnering nominations include “Marty Supreme,” which secured recognition in directing and acting categories. “Hamnet” and “Sentimental Value” also earned multiple acknowledgments. Unfortunately, “Homebound” failed to garner any recognition.
Cinema’s biggest celebration arrives on March 15 when the 98th Academy Awards take place at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles. The ceremony will air at 7 p.m. ET on ABC, where extensively recognized nominees will compete for Oscar gold.
